The Grande Denali Lodge brings you genuine Alaskan hospitality, inviting accommodations and spectacular views! Located above the hustle of the highway, our guests consider their stay with us to be a highlight in their journey.
The Grande Denali Lodge and The Denali Bluffs Hotelare owned by Old Harbor Native Corporation, one of 252 Native village corporations established by Congress in 1971 under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA).
Old Harbor is an Alutiiq village on the southeast side of Kodiak Island, Alaska, approximately 40 air miles from the city of Kodiak and 430 air miles from Denali National Park. It is one of Kodiak Island’s six Alutiiq villages and is an area rich in culture with spiritual ties to the land, respect for elders and community, and the shared practices of a subsistence lifestyle.
Old Harbor’s economy is mainly based on commercial fishing and supplemented by ecotourism. Whales that migrate through the area include humpbacks, orcas, fin and gray whales. Puffins and many other birds arrive in the spring, having flown thousands of miles to nest in rocky island nooks throughout the Kodiak Archipelago. And it is home to the world famous Kodiak Brown Bear.
